    Just had to get the master cylinder replaced in my vw passat the other day. Upon driving off I came to a set of traffic lights, went to take off and the gear went straight into reverse, lucky they were no cars behind me. So as ye may know with the reverse being beside first ye need to press down on reverse, but now I have to take off very slowly to make sure it's first. Have not heard back from garage yet, lucky I did not pay him yet for work done, just wondering if this has happened anybody.

    Used to happen a lot in some older VWs I had over the years. Quickly solved with some new gear linkage bushings.
