Storing firewood/coal in apartment

We've recently moved into an apartment with no outdoor storage and no balcony of any kind. There's an open fireplace which I would like to use to heat the living and dining area this winter in place of the storage heaters. Is there a clean way to store coal in decent quantities in doors?

Appreciate any help or experience you guys can give.

you can get recycling boxes in Ikea which might meet your needs. They come with a flip lid so look neat and tidy.

Before lighting any fires it would be a good idea to have the chimney swept and checked to ensure that it is safe to use.
Also check the terms of your lease (or with your landlord /agent) regarding its usage.
And after all that, if you are lighting a fire, have a carbon monoxide alarm in the room.

    Thanks,

The landlord mentioned that it's been swept, and there are no issues with using it. I'll ask the landlord about a carbon monoxide alarm.

Ikea have those boxes on as a special for 6 Euro down from 9 and I think the Lid is 3 extra. They have them in different sizes all the same price. I bought one myself only the other day to hold logs.
