What pisses me off most about this is it's even worse than Dublin. Now a 5 miler is a marathon.

At least the 2hr mark for the marathon will be broken

I had this argument with my wife in the car. She kept on emphasising the word 'mini' - grrrrr :D

Sure that's nothing. I'm doing a mini-"24 hours ultra-marathon" in October in only 3 hours

Maybe the Stilletto mile could replace the beer mile next year ?? Get practising lads (actually don't think I could walk in them not to mind run  )

It's September now and marathon silly season has begun, the mini marathon brigade discussing their ordeals at the watercooler...
Then one brave skinny soul raises their head and says they are doing the marathon on the bank holiday monday.

    Cue the questions:
-How far is "this" marathon? (Naturally given there are many types of marathons 4m/5m/8k/10k etc...)
-Is that miles or km? (You tell them in miles, then in km to shock the more given it's a bigger number, even though they have no idea, best pick a nearby town approx 40km away and say from here to there)
-Do you get medals like our marathons? (You say yes but they are all as important as each other in as demeaning a voice as possible  )
-Aren’t you worried about having a heart attack? That happens a lot during marathons you know (not as worried as you should be horsing into that pastry :D )
-I don’t run anymore, but I did the marathon in 1hr 45 a few years ago.. :pac: (Well the one I plan to do is 4.2 or 5.2 times the distance of your one.. :D:D:D)
