About a year ago, I started up a small charity initiative, the aim of which was to provide free bikes for kids/teens/adults who didn't have access to cycling.

It's been a very busy year!

I originally thought I'd end up with maybe a dozen bikes, make three or four good ones, and then pass them on to a local kid's group or charity....little did I know!

Here's a piece recently written about it: http://thecyclingblog.com/rebike-recycling-bicycles/

Or, if you're interested, here's the Facebook page I set up: https://www.facebook.com/rebikeireland

It's had a very positive response from the general public; I'd be interested in hearing from the cycling community to see what ye think of it.

Thanks for taking the time to read this,
    Paul.

Fantastic idea - well done - do you know of anything similar in Dublin?

fair play the Irish version of Qhubeka. Now all you need is a pro team to put you on as a sponsor ;)

Thanks a million; it was designed by a very modest (and highly talented!) friend of mine who returned to college as a mature student and has recently completed his qualification in graphic design, etc.

I don't think that they make a profit, they fix up the bikes, and are staffed by volunteers.

Good man Paul. It's been great to see the growth of this over the past year or so. Keep up the good work.

P's. I still have those bikes here for you next time you are up my way

Thanks, Lenny, hope to get up that direction in the next month or so.
