Foghraíocht Ceart Ar Ainmneacha Gaelacha

    Bhí comhrá an-suimúil agam le duine éigin inné.

    Tá fhios againn go léir faoina hainmneacha Niall agus Eithne,agus chomh maith le sin tá fhios againn ar fad go dtugtar an fhoghraíocht "Nile" agus "Ethna" orthu go minic agus go coitianta.

    Ach an phointe abhí agam,go bhfuil na hainmneacha seo ainmneacha Gaelacha go fíor,agus gurb iad seo leanas an fhoghraíocht ceart ar an dhá cheann:

    Niall = "Neeal"
    Eithne = "En-yeh"

    Thosaigh an comhrá amach nuair a dúirt sé liom go bhfuil iníon aige darb ainm "Enya",agus bhí mé ag iarraidh an litriú ceart Ghaelach a mhíniú dó.Ach ní raibh sé cinnte,agus thug mé samplaî eile dó,an t-ainm Niall,agus an t-ainm Niamh freisin,mar ní thugtar "Nive" ar an t-ainm seo go deo.

    Cad a cheapann sibhse?

    Siúl leat, siúl leat, le dóchas i do chroí, is ní shiúlfaidh tú i d'aonar go deo.
