Can I switch to illness benefit+ then take remaining maternity leave when better? I will be in hospital+ unable to care for my baby for a lot of the time+ even afterwards. It doesn't seem right that I would use my maternity leave whilst I am hospitalized etc.

Any advice welcome. Baby due in a few days+ would like to have my affairs in order before I begin treatment.
