So, I just went onto daft.ie and was quite shocked at the level of advertising going on... I'd say a good 90% of what I could see when I opened the page was just pure advertisements.. so much so that I was actually put off the site which lead me to thinking, have you ever been turned off a product/service/tv show etc due to the advertising being over the top, if so share?

I uploaded a screenshot of the page for me just in case it differs for others..

That's fair enough, but the question is, have you ever been turned off a product, service, tv show or similar due to over the top advertising?

I'll bear the adblock in mind :-)

Well I can't watch live TV anymore because I can feel my blood pressure rising when the craps ads come on-christ, every time I hear that happy, jingly, sugar pop ukelele on all those smartphone or camera I die a little inside.

Yep, any of the KBC poster advertising they have in their windows... utter shyte - one week it's a man in his jocks with a baby on his lap, then a week later it's a man dressed like a metrosexual and the caption reads something like "The bank of me"...

That'll be the bank of tossers then, clearly not for me.

Rte.ie has an awful lot of adverts, one on the homepage takes up 1/4 of the page (huge header, similar to the one attached)

Boards touch site. Only have to think of touching the page and you're bombarded with ads.

Also plenty of questionable ads...but that's Google's fault.

When there's a film on rte 2, the ads are on every 15 mins and last for about 6/7 mins.
They make the film a lot longer than it should be!
If titanic or ben hur were on, the film would be on for about 2 days!

To my credit I have never seen either performance run of I KEANO. Was going to go to the second performance but the saturation advertising put me off forever.

Things always pop up in my facebook news page about what my friends "like" that i find annoying.

"john smith likes brennens bread" or "mary jones likes lyons tea"

When i first joined facebook i didnt realise they were adverts, i thought these people were really fanatic and were sharing these as posts about brennans bread and lyons teabags :)

The latest Lotto ad campaign on the billboards and the luas would put me off even if the numbers stayed 1 - 45
