    Hi
Posting this on behalf of a friend who is not on boards,i know you might not be able to discuss one  particular policy but in general would it be normal for a business owners house insurance policy to be more expensive than a regular home policy and would it be normal that the bank insist on certain security measures be put  into place be that cctv or a  monitored alarm in the house. When he spoke to a lady on the phone she said that him being a Business owner might be the reason for the increase and if he was to in her words "beef up security" it might help in lowering the premium ..so just wondering if this is normal practice or was the lady on the phone just guessing a possible reason.
He is due to discuss this with a representative someday this week...He has no claims made on this policy.

    Hi harr,

Thank you for contacting us here on Boards.

We would be unable to go into this specific policy in detail here on Boards, however we would be happy to arrange a call to your friend from our Insurance team if you wish. Please ask your friend to send us a private message here with their name and contact number.
Alternatively, our Insurance team can be called on 1890 608 608 and they will be happy to discuss this in further detail.

    Thanks,
    Sarah
