Mistaken Payments

    Hi,

    Myself and my girlfriend moved into a new house in a rural area in the past 6 months. Since there we have made two separate payments to Irish Water.

    However, we have recently discovered we are in fact part of a rural water scheme and have mistakenly paid Irish Water although we are not part of the system.

    Are we entitled to refunds of the money we have paid?

    Thanks for your query, and congratulations on your new home.

    Can you confirm if you called us on 1890 448 448 when you moved properties? If not, we would suggest that you do so at your earliest convenience so that we can move you from your previous property into your new one and organise a refund of the payments you've made since you moved.

    If you did contact us when you moved homes, we can certainly investigate further for you. To do this, we would ask that you send us the following details via PM:

    Name;
    Address;
    Contact Number and;
    Account Number.
