Looking to buy my first car, I'm on a provisional at the moment, so I'm hoping for a car that's 1.1L max if possible, budget is about €1500 and I can't really go any higher. :( Aside from that all I need is for the car to have a good roomy boot.

Skoda fabia estate or a kia rio estate?

at that price level the skoda will probably be 1.4 minimum

Was going to suggest the Peugeot 206 SW but they are all 1.4. The 1.1 litre restriction is limiting your options. Small cars with small engines tend to have small boots.

Yeah, doesn't necessarily have to be an estate (though that would of course be ideal). I'm not looking for a MASSIVE boot, but something that is roomier than what most small cars normally have. I'll have my dog with me when I get more comfortable driving down the line, so I'm more concerned about being able to see out the rear window and that he won't be squished against the glass because there's no room for him to lie down lol.

The Honda Jazz has cinema style rear seats where the base flips up. Great for doggies. Comes with a 1.2 engine if you can find one.

The older cheaper ones are 1.4 though.

Ugly as sin but it's well within budget and I think they're reliable enough. I'd drive it.
