Hi, Just wondering I recently bought a 1.8 TDCI Ford Focus, and when the car is at 2000 revs, more its feels like its chucking a bit, it feels like the car needs to drive on!Does anyone know if this is common?

I'm not really sure what you mean.
Did you notice this when you test drove the car too?

    Is it hesitating?

Most likely a breathing issue, which could mean: Fecked turbo, a blocked EGR, a vacuum leak or a blocked CAT.

    When was it last serviced?

Edit: Just noticed that its in the wrong forum. OP ask a mod to move it to the motors forum for ya!

Sorry, OP. You're in Food & Drink and not 'Ford Focuses'. Moved to Motors :)

Thanks for the reply's. I just bought the car last week, NCT passed also first week in September with service done also. Mechanic went through the service history before the purchase. My mechanic advised the garage to change the fuel filter also. Whats happening is...For example, when I am in 4th gear traveling through traffic and it slows down, and if the rev count is around 2000 rev's the car feels like its slightly chucking, once i accelerate it seems fine

Is there any smoke visible at all whilst driving or stationary?

Could be a range of things, fuel filter or pump, clutch etc have your mechanic look at it. Is there any smoke/smell?

Without being funny, have you driven a diesel before.
They have a much narrower band of power.
4th gear in traffic and with 2k revs would be the lower end.
Is it possible you need to drop a gear compared to petrol cars you've driven?

2000 rpm is right on the power band on these. 1800 -3000 rpm the power should be good. I had a similar problem with mine down around 1000- 1200 rpm but it was just a blocked air filter.
