Aviva: Half Our Customers Pay €380 or less...

It says so right in front of me and I think they are a bunch of lying cnuts.

Put my details through to see and guess what?

    Comprehensive cover you pay €742.47.

So I tried to change details to get it under €380, can't be too hard right, after all 50% of customers are under this amount. Nope, even with the weediest car I could think of comprehensive was still coming out around the €500 mark.

So, anyone out there able to unlock the magic combination to get into the Aviva 50% club?

Are you sure you aren't getting your companies mixed up?

I've heard of this claim from Aviva. They make reference to it on their website and I've heard it in their adverts on TV/radio. Haven't heard of AXA making this claim.

Also you might be in the riskier categories. It's not all about the car.

Mines €350 with them...was €330 last year. 31yo male living in Dublin driving a 2011 180bhp hatchback fully comprehensive with full no claims protection, drive other cars, windscreen cover etc.
I do discounts for having other policies with them though.

Mine is €280 with them - and that's for an all bells and whistles comprehensive policy with insured NCB etc.

Mine has been 280 a year for the last 3 or 4 years with them.
Have home insurance with them too which gets a discount.
    Small engined car, fully comp.

Last year it came in below (around 250) and they had to bring it up to 280 as that is their minimum premium:mad:.
That annoyed me and I was all set to leave, but no one else could get near the 280 anyway so I stayed.

Think I have only had one year away from them my whole time driving, the year tesco came in and gave out silly premiums to get market share and then disappeared a year later.

I did the Hibernian Ignition thing with them when I started out, the discount from that ran out after 5 years though.

Crossing 200 must be the cut off for them, they were way way off for me. No discounts could get then within a mile of other insurers.

They were the dearest when I got a quote last week. E1916.08 with a load of 'discounts' for no points, NCD, if I did their driving course etc. No thanks...

Notice the wording - it's "customers". You're only a prospective customer at the quotation stage and may choose to walk away. Lots of people will get high quotes as they don't meet the desired customer profiles and will not become customers.

FWIW, my policy was with Aviva about 2 years ago. I think it was €350 for comprehensive on a 2000 BMW 318 and lots of extras. I also have health insurance with them, which helps.

I think I paid 350 with them some years back.

    I'm the same.

Wife is named driver on mine. Think that usually brings down the cost a little.

Every year I call several companies and brokers and Aviva have been the cheapest for the last few years.

I got my folks an Aviva policy for around €350 a few months ago, 2013, 2l Avensis with all added extras - full bonus protection etc.

    QUOTE]

That's exactly how it works. They are deliberately pricing their quote as unattractive so as not to get your business. If you do pay the high figure, they are not too concerned
