The Connacht XC Mountain Bike Champs are being held on 27th September in Union Wood, Collooney, Co. Sligo.

This a great opportunity for any budding xc athletes to try out one of the best locations in the country for mountain biking. Not far off the N4 Sligo to Dublin road it won't be hard to find either!
Not only is this one of the toughest xc trails in the country it is also fast and will suit most riders, Fast, flowing descents, New technical climb and loads of line choice! Some great changes from last years trail too.
So get on it! Sign on is on the day, Get there early and get a practice lap in! You will need it!!
A Little rumour is going around that this trail will host the First round of the NPS next season!!!! so now your chance for some practice!!!
This race is open to everyone not just Connacht so if you want to race in one of the best mtb locations in Ireland, make the trip!

These videos show some of the routes used in the past, and the type of terrain

Pity it clashes with the 1st round of the CX races in Leinster.

Was on new course the other day, great improvements made with the new race route. Looking forward to Sunday!

I done a lap the other day too, many might not be looking forward to the climb the second or third time around! Some great sections on it though. Good luck Sunday if you're racing.

Cheers, ya 1st mtb race so will try the novices. Nice bit of new gravel down at start of wildlife climb and that cians trail is riding great. No rain forecast tomorrow so hopefully will dry up a bit

I think the novice is two laps, so pace yourself for that climb!
