I've spent a lot of time in Manchester for work. Never been there for New Years. What I would say is there are a couple of decent boozers up in the Northern Quarter. That aside there is no reason I'd want to go to Manchester unless I had to be there for work or when I've gone to take in a United game. The city holds no appeal whatsoever. If you want to go away for New Years I'd reccomend Edinburgh or anywhere else for that matter just not Manchester.

Nothing wrong with Manchester. It's no worse than any place in Ireland.

Long Gone. Here's my recommendation: post constructively. You've had enough warnings.
