    Why does it need saving other than as a ruin? Stabilising the ruin from collapse would be a job for the OPW. As regards cost - depends on how much stabiliisng would be needed. It looks pretty wrecked on this site http://www.nobodyhome.ie/38lc/loughmoecastle.html but probably will remain as a landmark for a few years yet.

    Unless some rich celebrity comes to restore it and live in it (the British actor Sir Jeremy Irons restored a castle down in West Cork) then it is doomed to remain a ruin and eventually crumble into a heap of stones like hundreds of other castles and towers like it the length of the country.
