Is there still a market for 90's style EDM and trance

The classics, cafe del mar, carte Blanche etc.

I operate a small venue (very small) in a rural area but would love to get a monthly trance night going.

I'm not 20mins from carlow it either so the dj society might be interested in giving me some support acts :D

I'm just wondering is that style still attracting crowds in smaller towns without bringing the toerags in with it. I LOVE what hangar are doing in dublin with some wonderful acts arriving in a small intimate club (havnt been there in a while tho - hopefully the standards stayed the same)

Im here after listening to the BBC Ibiza proms and it's taking me back to some of the best times of my life! ha! Along with a few beers!

So for anyone in rural areas, if there was a place in the middle of no-where with a monthly decent edm/drance event would you venture?

If it says "edm" on it I wouldn't go.

I'm not being funny but EDM is big with a lot of kids at the moment, my 12 year old nephew was amazed that I knew what 'EDM' stood for.

so, I know it's a 12 year old is not your market but there;s also the 'nostalgia' market too.If you market it the right way and play older tunes...perhaps you could make something of it?

Sorry "EDM" just came out - like a lil puke you wer'nt expecting :D I think the tracks mentioned explain the genre I'm talking about. I didnt realise edm was offensive :D

You'd never hear that being said about 70's rock or 90's hip hop. There's something about dance music that even its fans consider throwaway. That's quite sad really.

no, we won't. good music will never die.

OP i agree with others on the use of "EDM" . its a no no i'm afraid. not to worry though, you probably weren't to know

I'm very highly educated. I know words, i have the best words, nobody has better words then me.
