i need a transit type of van for my new business, i need it to be able to pick up and carry a quad, ride on mower or motorcycles. i've my eye on a transit, movano/primastar maybe even a hiace. any ideas or pitfalls of either models? budget is super tight as i'm only starting up so €1500 is about it ta!

That's a low budget in fairness but it's workable. If it was me mk5/6 transit.
Make sure you go through it with a fine tooth comb for rust worm though.
Next is as you mentioned, the trusty hiace but doesn't have the cargo space of the lwb transits. Stay away from the rest in that budget as the Vivaro and equivalents whilst being a nice van aren't as durable.

Stay clear of the movano and primastar, a transit or hiace for €1500 will be well molested. Yes you will see them on the donedeal for that money or less even with a test but they will be beauty queens.

A €1500 Transit will most likely be a rust bucket at this stage.

A Fiat Ducato is worth looking at, they are a good van:

I'd be cautious of that seller. Poor English, van is posted as being for sale in Dublin and Cork. And the ad is 66 days old.

Didn't really look at the advert, just posted it as an example.

A hiace is a bit old fashioned but it's miles ahead of the rest in terms of build and reliability.
