    I don't want a cassette attached, or a tyre/tube. Just the wheel.

Hi OP. I've Giant SR2 wheelset you can have for €40. Would rather get rid of the front and rear together, but would sell the rear on its' own for €25.

What condition are the wheels in / how much mileage / why are you selling them? :)

    Are you in Dublin?

They're well used but still enough decent nick. Will stick up a few pics tomorrow. I'm not sure what mileage exactly - I used them for about 18 months. I hadn't particularly planned on selling them but I saw your post and I'm not using them.

Are you in Dublin? Would it take a 9 speed shimano cassette?

Sorry, yes, I am in Dublin.

I would have to check tomorrow (I had a 10 speed cassette on). Actually, just did a quick search there and the 2013 Giant Defy 3 had the same wheels and 9 speed drivetrain.

I'll take a look, thanks. If all is well I'll probably take both wheels. Could you hang on until next weekend though? This week is going to be very busy for me.

Hey... Apologies for the delay responding - I've been up to my eyes and haven't been online since Saturday.

So, I dug the wheels out. The front wheel's absolutely fine, in decent nick. The rear wheel runs true and the rim's fine, but there's a rough noise coming from the free hub (needs greasing maybe, I dunno??). There's also a few marks on a few spokes on the drive side I hadn't noticed - possibly chain went over too far. I've tried to show the marks as best as I could in the first photo below (I'd have mentioned the two issues straight off, but wasn't aware of them - haven't even looked at the wheels in a while TBH).

If you wanna take a look at them and make an offer, or just leave it, entirely up to you.

Unfortunately I'm getting a new rear wheel due to my current one having a rough noise coming from the hub too. It wouldn't make much sense for me to replace it with a wheel that has the same problem.

    Thanks anyway for responding! :)

I'm pretty sure the noise is caused by worn ball bearings inside the hub. It's cheap enough to replace them, as long as the races aren't damaged (the surface the bearings contact inside the hub). Best of luck!
