this is what you do, sky have a special offer of 19 euro a month, for 12 months, join online. Then they will install everything, you will get sky hd box and its yours after 12 months. it will only cost you 19 euro upfront. and you will have all the channels you need.

also you wont get freeview in ballinasloe, thats the uk dtt ie like our saorview, you mean freesat, the free channels on satellite.

forget about saorsat thats only for people who cant get saorview in very west of ireland and it does not have tv3 3e or utv ireland.

then do a bit of reading and after 12 months you can buy a saorview box, get an aerial, cancel sky and get a uk cheap card for the freesat channels.

So that is €228 to sky over 12 months plus a lot of trouble cancelling assuming you remember to cancel on time, plus £25 for a ftv card. Then a Saorview box and an aerial installation.

Surely better to get a combi box and aerial dish installation now in one hit.

Dish wont be hard install was 1 here before so just needs replacement put up (previous owner took it with them) its really the aerial installation just want get both done same time if I can
Anyone know rough cost and installor (pm if not allowed post)
Dont need any frills recording,ESP,HD just basic

If you post the make & model of the TV(s) you have, it would be possible to advise on what if anything they can receive, without a box.

Some Walker TVs have integrated satellite tuners too, though you'd probably already be aware of this.

It would have a screw type connection (f-connector, female), usually located near the terrestrial (Saorview) aerial connection, & labeled 'LNB-in'.
