Sales Job realistic targets

I've been offered a job with a start up. It's selling school bags & stationery. They expect me to gain 75 new retail clients by May next year. With sales targets of €450k in a year. Does that sound doable? I have previously had a sales job but getting new clients wasn't where my sales targets lay. It was maximising existing clients mostly.

The product is excellent. Just wondering are the targets realistic?

I'd negotiate to get targets moved to August. As a parent I've spent the last few years buying new schoolbags in August. While I appreciate tat retail will buy in advance, it would give you an opportunity to gain good deals close to prime selling.

75 new clients is just ten a month, doable if you can do some good lead offers. Don't know about the figures though, if you were a car salesman you could do that in December alone....

Is 10 new clients a lot a month?? That's 10 retail outlets taking my product on. Oh I'm not sure at all. The job is well paid €45k if I hit target & 10% of what i bring in after that but I just don't know if I will hit it.

No idea if your target a are realistic as I work in a different industry

    Ask a couple ofsimple questions-

what are other reps targets and how did they perform last year?
What's the average tenure of a rep in the business?
How would you judge success over the first three month?

I've sold and managed sales teams. If the hiring manager can answer those questions you'll get a feel very quickly how realistic the targets are. A big red flag for me would be a high turnover of sales staff. Depending on the industry they may not actually expect you to sell anything for a while rather build up a pipeline initially
