Hi, I'll be starting college in Dublin on monday and was wondering where to get the best bus prices.

I'll be travelling from Louth, and the "10 day Journey" tickets from BusEireann seem to be the best value at the moment. But it still works out at €42 a week.

Check if your route allows for Leap cards. I think Leap 7 day tickets are cheaper and i am pretty sure there are student fares. Use the bus eireann website and do some research yourself.

It will depend upon where exactly you are commuting from.

If you tell us that we can give you more precise advice.

And also where you're going to. DCU, DIT or Trinity would require no extra travel.
    ITT, ITB, UCD probably would.

This is true, though if you buy your ticket on BE Club online you get every 11th ticket free. Remember doing the calculates a while back you roughly save 50€ over the course of 11 weeks if you opt for BE Club over Leap Card. And 90€ if you opt for BE Club over paying on the day at the bus.
This would be communing on a 10 journey ticket from the Blue Zone.

The Leap card routes can be found here

Thanks for the replies. I'll be travelling from Drogheda and going to DIT. So I guess Kildare street would be the closest stop. Came to €41.80 but I'll enquire about the leap cards, and see if I get further discount.

The Student 10 Journey ticket bought online will cost you €41.80.

The 7 day Student Blue Zone ticket will offer you unlimited travel between Drogheda and Dublin (and any other Bus Eireann service within the Blue Zone) for €51.80.

So unless you need to do a lot more travelling, then stick with the 10 Journey ticket.
