    Hi,

A query which I can't find an answer from on Google. Is it possible to get planning permission if a mobile home has been in situ for 20 years. What is the retention law does anyone know?

    Thanks

It is possible to get planning for a mobile but usually they'd be refused and if granted usually a temporary permission. Once you can prove it's been in situ for 20 years the council cannot take steps to remove it but neither do they ever have to grant planning for it. Retention permission means a bigger fee but same planning process as such.

I don't think so. Mobile homes are specifically mentioned in the planning and development act and have a max time that they can be in place for in a garden etc a mobile home is not a permanent habitable home, so it cannot meet building regulations either to get planning on the first place.

It would be like getting planning for a Wendy house for your kids.
