    Have a friend who interviewed for a PS job a few weeks ago (7 weeks I believe) and was successful in her application. She was placed 3rd on a panel for a few positions (think they where looking for four positions to be filled) and was told "they'll contact her". This was over a month ago now and still not a thing. Is it the usual practice of the PS to be this slow in the hiring of people as she is getting fairly worried about the wait.

    Anyone have any idea if this is normal any info at all to put their mind at ease. :)

    Yeah that's normal, panels normally last 2 years so could be a long wait, though this one seems pretty specific so probably not bear as long as that. This kind of thing moves at a glacial pace in my experience

    It's the process tha it must go through. The interview panel creates the order list. They then get sent to HR for approval and possibly then have to go to the Department for government approval to make the appointment.

    Could take 2 months easily.
