Nice fireball caught on camera. Am I right in assuming that this was not any where near the size as the one over Russia a few years ago. Or it was, but it was just too far out over sea to make a difference?

Cool footage. It's tough to say how big it was, all depends how high up in the atmosphere, angle of impact etc. No reports of meteorites being found on the ground yet anyway.

the Russian one called Chelyabinsk was a real once in a lifetime event.This Thai object is still a bit of a mystery but if it was a rock and not space junk it almost certainly dropped some meteorites as there were associated sounds.We'll know soon enough perhaps.I haven't heard yet of any of the big hunters on their way to Thailand

the consensus is that it was too fast to be space debris and there's almost certainly meteorites on the ground but that area of Thailand is mostly jungle so recovery may be unlikely although at least one American hunter is likely going out for a look.
