Has this ever happened to you after interviewing

    Hi All

A quick question for you all. Have any of you gone through 3 rounds of interviews with at least 1 stage to go and maybe another. All seemed to go swimmingly but now they have communicated that they will have to hold off on this stage for a couple of weeks as they are still going through third rounds of interviews (the job add also was put up again). Only then will they make a decision!

I am not sure what to make of it....I get that they may have not had the calibre of candidates but it also indicates that they were not overly concerned that they could have lost me in the process :(

I also hope that if I was definitely out of the running they would have told me there and then?

    Anyone have anything similar?

Yea, that has happened to me a few times and I never got the job. I think what happens is that they decide while interviewing that the skillset required is slightly different so they advertise the job again. It is no reflection on you, it's just that the spec has probably changed a little bit. I would say that you may still be in the running though.

I just don't understand the wait!! Just tell me now instead of letting me sit there for weeks waiting!!

Looking at your experiences I might as well forget about...pity though the job sounded fab. Were you told after the wait or after completing the next stage?

    Thanks

If after 3 rounds of interviews the company then changes the spec or can't find someone within those called forward for interview there is something seriously wrong with H.R. and /or those that originally requested/posted the vacancy.
To me it speaks volumes of incompetence and I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole.

Not necessarily incompetence, it might be that they are looking for someone with more experience but the money they are offering is too low.

Indeed. I would not bother wasting my time with a company that did more than two rounds of interviews. IMHO it means they're messers, and would be a PITA to work for.

I have found that 3-4 interviews is the norm now for most multi-nationals so that does not bother me, fit is more important to companies these days I think :) hence the multiple interviews with various team members and mange end.

Also think process has to be followed so they have no choice!!
