Site sold across from Aldi in Callan

    Curious if anyone knows who's bought this site?

    In a good few places its common for Lidl to try set up right across from Aldi or visa versa (happened in Kilkenny, Waterford etc) so actually curious if it'll be Lidl.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Haven't heard anything yet, I'll keep an eye out for a planning notice. I wouldn't have thought that site would have been big enough for a Lidl, but I suppose we'll wait and see

    Looking at sat image its certainly a smaller site - http://binged.it/1EKadIP

    However, when you consider that a good amount of the Aldi site is actually green space with grass or bushes especially towards the last 1/3rd of the site at West Street I'd say Lidl could fit in the other site.
