Sky Sports is the only show in town this year apart from the odd 'free to air' game that will be simulcast on Pick TV

The first of those is next Sunday at 6. There are no more planned as of yet

Fecking sky sports. I refuse to pay for the channels. is the nfl game pass worth getting.

Any word of Sky possibly using Mike Carlson again, I'd be disappointed if he was gone completely now that C4/BBC coverage is finished.

For those that have but not sports there's a half price offer at the moment

So, Sky will be showing 3 games on Sunday night?

Not to sound dumb here, but why is it gone? Surely there was a market there for them to continue coverage, was it just that they couldn't afford it/got blown out by sky?

TV is about return on investment. C4 isn't really going to say anything bad about NFL or SKY so we'll never know the real reason

But looking at it logically, its a show that starts at 1am on a Monday morning, in a (very much still) niche market. Shame for us viewers but we're not the ones looking at the bottom line for companies

i would imagine so, tbh ratings for the late late games are probably pretty small

It's great but you can't watch the playoffs live on it

Channel 4 really have dropped the ball. They did the same thing with the Nhl around 5 years ago. No reason was given

Pick TV? never heard of it. Can one get it on UPC?

EDI: seems to be channel 133? won't be able to confirm until I get home mind you.

So that means that Superbowl 50 will not be shown on Free to Air tv.

Not great for promoting the game in the Irish isles.

I thought that Channel 4 were committed to showing NFL but I was wrong.

The Superbowl will probably still be shown free to air. BBC, ITV and even TV3 have shown it within the last few years without a weekly contract

No commercial TV channel is committed to anything. They're there to make money and will do what they feel is best for the company. Clearly the NFL wasn't working out for them

Well there are ways of getting all the channels (Sky Sports, BT Sports, ESPN, Movies etc.) on your TV in HD quality. I paid €160 back in January for a 12 month subscription and not a penny since. They're not exactly above board though.

Having said that, 9 months later and I've had no trouble at all. Crystal clear picture quality, no difference to having a Sky/UPC box. Happy to divulge the information to anyone over PM. Doubt you'd have it in time for Thursday or this weekend though.

BBC have just announced they're showing the 3 international series games from Wembley this year

    So there's that...

    Ah ****e

Really enjoyed the CH4 and Setanta coverage last season.

Looks like it'll be Internet streams and whatever Pick TV (who I never heard of till reading this thread) shows this season.

Have CH4 dropped the highlights programme too?

Yeah the have, but I'm after seeing BBC took that over for two years, it will be on bbc2 and online from October

    They're showing weekly highlights

And 2 live games from wembley on BBC 2 and the other one on the red button

    They'll then show the suoerbowl

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 957 ✭✭✭Arrow in the Knee

Well they're only showing weekly highlights from October so that's like Match of the Day saying sure we will forget about the first two months of the Premiership as its not really decisive?

    At least its something!

Last year Eurosport had an American import highlights show. And they'd show MNF later in the week if I remember right.

There's a free game on Sky 2 now for those that don't have Sky Sports.

    That's Sky 2, not Sky Sports 2.

When do bbc have the highlights show. It's a pain watching highlights on nfl.com with the electric guitars and the 2 'comedians' on it
