Going to Milan for 3 nights in November. Any recommendations for a hotel and things to see.

Definitely pre-book tickets to see Leonardo da Vinci's Last Supper-make sure you book ASAP for tickets on their website as they only let in 10 people at a time.

Otherwise a visit to the Teatro Scala is pricey but it is one of the worlds finest opera houses and worth seeing.

If you like football either AC Milan or Inter Milan should be playing at the San Siro stadium most weekends.

Is there anything to do around malpensa airport. Is it far from the centre?

Malpensa is about 30 - 60 min drive from the airport depending on traffic and where in the city you come from or you can get an express train which takes just under 40 mins.

I haven't found a lot of things to do around it to be honest but I haven't really looked.

The Expo is on 'til the end of October, may be worth a visit.

Malpensa is a long way from Milan
It's in the top left. Milan city is inside the red ringroad.
Linate is just east of the city

Lake Maggiore is just north of malpensa and easily accessible by train.

I'll be staying on lake maggiore already. Have 7 hours to kill in the airport so I think I will get a train into Duomo area for an hour or two.
