Leatherjackets

I have just found quite a large number of what I believe to be leatherjacket casings in my lawn. The grass doesn't look affected, I gave it a weed and feed two weeks ago and it is green and lush and it was fine before that, no yellow or bald patches. I don't have flower or veg planting beds but there are a few new trees in that area. The soil drains well and is not compacted at all.
I understand that these leatherjackets can be quite a pest and that now may be the time to do something about them? Can anybody give me advice about possible treatments and timing please? Thanks!
