    I have a metal band project going that I'm pretty happy with, I rehearse with them once a week (I play guitar). But I'd really like to get into more casual get togethers playing more laidback stuff, some folk or even trad, just to expand my music playing horizons a bit. Is there a group somewhere online for organising stuff like that? I realise I'm being very vague here, but I'm pretty much at a loss even where to begin with something like this.

    Why not put it together on this thread?

    Maybe choose a couple of covers (so you know you've got a least a few tunes), pick a time/day, book a studio and jam away!

    Have you tried meetup.com , theres a few acoustic jams around Dublin on there.
