Primary school offers

Our eldest will be starting primary school next September.

We got an email from one of the schools we applied for him saying that they will be making offers for next Septembers intake this October.

This school is not as close as another one we applied for, but, from a teaching perspective, we don't have a preference of one over the other, just really distance is the main decider.

I am working on the assumption that its OK to accept multiple offers until you get (or not as the case may be) an offer for your first choice?

Secondly, is there a standard month when next years offers are made (like the CAO system for example in Uni) for primary schools or does it differ on a school by school basis by much? )

    Thanks in advance.

You can accept as many as you like but out of courtesy once you get the offer that you want then please let the other schools know so that others on the list get a chance.

Each school sets its own enrollment policy and they are all independent of each other.

    Some school offer in February.

Thanks Moonbeam, absolutely we will let the other schools know should we take up another offer so another kid can get the chance to take the place.

No booking deposit required? Take up the offers just in case. The schools around here got a bit wise to that, some of them require a 150 euro booking fee, refundable only if the junior infant actually starts.
