I am looking for black knee highs for upcoming winter.

I absolutely love these boots but they are only available in brown. Anyone know where I could get something like them in black? (maybe a tiny bit lower heel too)

I got similar pair in black in next a few years ago, can't wait for the cold weather so I can wear them again! M&s usually do good leather comfortable boots

You should try pavers.co.uk They're in the west end, blanchardstown. I can't comment as a buyer, but often find myself coveting boots from there. Good sales too!

Oh they really are great boots. Mango gave similar but you can see the difference in quality. http://shop.mango.com/IE/p0/women/accessories/shoes/leather-high-leg-boots/?id=53070348_99&n=1&s=accesorios.zapatos&ident=0__0_1441360043310&ts=1441360043310
I often shop on spartoo but they are either going out of business or their winter stock isn't coming in yet. Maybe wait a little bit longer. There were still temperatures around 30 degrees on the continent last week.

I would actually wait a little bit so more winter stock comes into the shops and online.

Yeah maybe its a bit early. Wouldn't be into those mango boots really. Feck it I have been looking for the perfect pair for years so if I see a pair that's at all reasonable I will pull the trigger. Might even buy those ones in the pic. They'd go with black, brown and navy.

snap!!! Very hard to find actually. was all ankle boots last year and a lot of the longer length boots were too high or welly-ish looking. Clarks used to be good for that type of thing but the past few years there collections haven't been great I think

House of Fraser has a massive selection of boots on their website. You might find something there.

So many knee high boots look like wellies! I personally need a buckle across the ankle region or I can't get over them looking like wellies on my feet :o.

Duo Boots used to be regularly recommended here. They've rebranded as Ted and Muffy now - www.tedandmuffy.com I think. Expensive but high quality, from past reviews I've seen.

S Oliver and Amy Huberman (Bourbon?) have some beautiful black, tan and navy boots this year, ankle ones and knee ones. There's also a gorgeous Reiker pair that I spotted in a shop yesterday, I have a pair myself for a few years now and they are amazing in terms of comfort and quality of the leather.

Just by the by question, is S Oliver in Ireland now? I am not mad about female clothing but OH likes men's stuff.

I've seen their shoes one or two places and I'm sure I've tried on their ladies stuff in a boutique in Ennis Co Clare but I've never seen their men's stuff in Ireland, or a decent selection of their ladies stuff either for that matter!

A few years ago I admired a pair of leather boots that another member of my family had just bought. I asked her were did you get the boots and she said Boyers in Dublin.
I was in TK Max recently and they had some boots in also.
Some times Marks and Spencer can have nice boots also.

Im going to milan in two weeks and have an afternoon free and can get some leads about where to go. Gonna have a good look then.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,624 ✭✭✭✭meeeeh

It's ages since I was in Milan but irc main shopping is in the centre (Duomo area). Any Italian town has plenty of shoe shops so I doubt the fashion centre is any different. Btw majority of shops close between one and three and then open till seven or something like that. I can't remember exact hours but there is at least two hour lunch break and almost everything but food places closes.

Thanks. Yes i am hoping to get to some outlet or factory stores rather than the centre (which i expect would be full of designer stuff i cant afford). I have a Milanese colleague so she is going to help.

Knee high or ankle high? Someone posted a lovely pair of Carl Scarpa ankle boots in the latest purchases thread the other day, still expensive enough at €89 but they look great. Also in tan. http://www.carlscarpa.com/boots/all-boots/ankle-boots/cavalina-21682.html
    Also liked these http://www.carlscarpa.com/boots/all-boots/ankle-boots/cavalina-21683.html
Greene's have a few nice pairs including the Amy Huberman ones (very nice leather) but their website is a nightmare, worth going to the shop if you have one locally.

If you're ever in Limerick call in to Serendipity, I think they sell online too, was in there looking for shoes for a special occasion during the week and they had loads of knee high boots in the sale. Great shop in general.

Fabulous shop, with very helpful staff.

I find the boots from Marks and Spencer very good value, picked up a chocolate brown pair in the sale over the weekend.

thanks, didn't see any ones I liked in M&S even when full-price. Basically I'm looking for a black leather (not suede) knee high boot with a low heel size and no buckles etc.
