Fumes while stationary

    Hi guys, and gals...

    I have a 2008 Seat Leon FR550 2.0 Tdi , and lately ive noticed if im parked with the engine running for a few minutes im getting fumes in the cabin, has anyone got any idea of a cause?

    What do you mean by fumes? Is it a particular smell? Oil? Exhaust? Best not mess around with something like that if you're not sure. Get a mechanic to take a look I'd say.

    I could be anything really, but if it is exhaust fumes I would rather get it checked sooner rather than later.

    Smells like exhaust fumes alright, not a hint while travelling just when stationary , i will get it checked out but was looking for anyone who had similar as i could try see the prob myself

    That could be your problem.

    Possibly an issue with the firewall or the boot. You should not be smelling exhaust fumes inside the cabin with widows closed.
    Does the boot close proper? How's the seal?

    Most likely there's a flexi on the exhaust starting to go, seen it on a few passats and golfs over the years. Reason you don't get it while driving is that the airflow under the car is enough to move them away from the cabin.

    I have exactly the same problem with my Bmw at the moment.

    I had the same, turned out the be an injector seal was gone...mines a diesel car.
    Cost about 120e to sort out two of them.
