My wife did a 2 day trial in the local Chinese takeaway in September 2014. She got payed for it but they never took her on. As it was a trial she never got a p45. Last week she got a letter from social welfare saying revenue has inform that she has been working in the job since January 2015. The employer in the Chinese won't give a p45 to say that she is finished there September last year . What should we do in this situation.

Write back to SW and tell them exactly what you have posted here and ask them to contact the takeaway.

It, may be the case that SW have been informed(incorrectly) by someone that she is working.

A lot of these employers seem to run takeaway delivery jobs off the books. This may not be relevent to what your wife was doing.

If she genuinely only had a two day trial then I think she has little to fret about.
