Which of the above is the better one to get can anyone advise?

Also for older diesels is there one for them as they all only do diesels from 01 I think

    Cheers

Cheapest one you can find to be honest.
They all do the same thing.

OBDII reader won't read most diesels before 01 because manufacturers didn't have to comply with emissions regulations before that. Still a few diesel cars made before 01 that it will work with though.

Ah right I just thought with the different prices and that that there would be better ones over the others

What car are you trying to do?

Won't work in all. They're pretty basic. Tried it in a 03 C5 and a 06 C5 and neither of them played ball with OBDII. You'd need a Lexia diag unit for most peugeots/citroens.

A 2001 Xsara diesel is the only car I had trouble with. Apparently they work from 2004 onwards.

That's because EOBD was made standard in January 2001 for petrol engines and January 2004 for diesel engines.

Yeah, that's why I invested in a DS150 which has no trouble diagnosing the Xsara.

Did you buy a genuine Delphi unit or a Chinese knock-off? I have a copy myself and it works beautifully.

Yeah I bought a clone. Works very well.

I bought the non-bluetooth version and they sent me a bluetooth one too :pac:

It's for a range of range mk 1 focus mk4 mondeo, transit, connect etc

The eobd does it do the same job as the other as couple cars are 90's cars

And yet a 2006 C5 1.6 Diesel refuses to read properly without a lexia diagnostic box.

"mandatory" but the support is rubbish

I've had good results using the DS150e on a C4 Picasso using the same 1.6 HDi engine.

ELM327 and other standard interfaces can only read the bare minimum emissions related codes. P00xx, P01xx, etc. With the Delphi copy I can read airbags, abs, HVAC, etc.

DS150e owners - did you get direct from China? Or from UK/Ireland? Any recommended sellers?
Wary of paying for something, waiting 2 months and it turns out to be flakey when it does arrive.

    I bought this one:
    http://www.aliexpress.com/item/New-2014-R2-VCI-DS150e-CDP-Plus-PRO-without-Bluetooth-For-DELPHI-DS150E-Truck-Car-Auto/2013763343.html

It's a cheaper price because it doesn't have Bluetooth but when mine arrived I got the Bluetooth version.

Shipping was fairly quick IIRC. Works well :)

I recommend using WoW software with it because you get similar info to AutoData + the diagnostics bit. I use the Delphi software as a back up, just in case...

It came with a Delphi DVD but I didn't use it.

I got mine from China on aliexpress. It took about a month to arrive.

You get buyer protection on aliexpress. Basically the seller doesn't get the money until buyer protection expires. So when you receive your item, if you are happy you end the protection else you start a dispute.

OK cool. Never used aliexpress, only deal extreme and ebay. "You win some you lose some" has been my china experience so far!

But with aliexpress you live to fight another day. Sorry, had to.

AliExpress is probably one of the best Chinese sites there and also cheapest. A lot better than Deal Extreme and there is a lot more stuff.
