Pre-Uni Science and LC

I am considering doing a FETAC Level 5 in Pre-Uni Science and repeating my LC in June as an external candidate to give myself the best possible chance of going Uni.

What do you guys think? I will be focusing on the three science subjects for my LC and Maths, so repeating 4 subjects, and maybe English. Or would I best just focusing on the LC? The Leaving Cert seems to have more weight behind it vs. PLC courses here in Ireland and the UK, which I will be applying to as well.
