Has anyone been to either of these places recently?

I am just starting to plan a trip to either one. I will be travelling solo (i do it quite a bit). Direct flights wont happen so any suggestions on the best route would be appreciated!

Aren't there direct flights to Keflavik from Dublin now? I think so. Flew with SAS before, via Oslo. Never been to Greenland so can't help you there. Iceland is magnificent. Enjoy.

Greenland via Copenhagen, I'd say it will be fairly pricey though. Very odd to see all the short dark haired Inuit surrounded by tall blonde Danes. Western Greenland is meant to be really cool with laid back locals.

Might be also worth considering Spitzbergen if you like high latitude destinations. Fly from Oslo to Longyearbyen.

I'm off to Iceland next month. I looked into heading on to Greenland from Iceland. There are flights from there but they were very expensive.

I'm just back from Iceland. There are day trips to Greenland you can book from Reykjavik and Akureyri. Most were all around the €1000 mark. I think the cheapest one I saw was €800. They trips seem to be seasonal as well. A lot of them seemed to be ending in September.

Eastern Greenland is cool too. Chilly some might say.
