Hi all, i started a new job 10 months ago where it was the pay + commission , ive been querying and querying the commission all along and today the manager sat me down and said there will be no commission at all, i was never given a contract but i have all the emails giving me the job including money + commission. Can a company do this?

I dont want to rock the boat as i enjoy work and i was unemployed for sometime so am at a loss now what to do

What's the pay like without commission? Can you get a better paying gig elsewhere?

Because you're still on probation, you don't have a lot of options.

(Legally you probably could take a case here, if you could afford a smart lawyer. But it might be a case that you'd win the battle but lose the war, if you just end up unemployed again.)

You'd probably find the commission was discretionary anyway.

Start looking for a better paid job is my only advice, it's easier when you're employed.
