Yep happened me before with SAS. Was just unlucky enough to be booking it while they updated their prices.

If it was before midnight and by the time you finished booking after midnight you could of been caught up in the changes. Many websites time out once the day changes.

Ebookers did that to me once, and i cleared cookies and tried again and it went back to the old price. I think they bank on people just not bothering by that stage.

Yep, definitely chanced their arm with you. That's still a bad buzz for you.

Happened me before with Virgin. I called them and they could see the failed booking and processed it for me there and then at the lower price when I threatened to report them to the regulator.

In many cases you've simply blocked the lower fare yourself. Airlines have a set number of seats at various prices, once you go through to the payment stage the seat is blocked for you at that price, generally for 30~40mins, sometimes longer. If you don't complete the purchase and it was the last at that price then when you try to book again the price will be higher. You can gamble on waiting 40mins and hope that no one books before you on release.

U see lot of sites carry out updates/maintenance overnight so page likely timed out.
