    Hi ike,

    Thanks for getting in touch.

If the direct debit was originally mandatory when you signed up to the price plan in question, withdrawing the direct debit would mean losing any associated discounts. As per our T&C's:
If you discontinue your electricity and/or gas Direct Debit for any reason before the end of your price plan we will move you to the relevant Electric Ireland Standard Price Plan and withdraw all electricity and gas discounts, including any optional discounts.

Hope this helps. If you have any other questions please don't hesitate to ask.

    Regards,
    David
