Sharing a monthly ticket?

I'm off work at the moment and my daughter asked could she use my rail ticket to make one return journey

Does anyone know Irish Rail's policy on this? If I have a valid ticket for the month and the ticket is not been used, can someone else use the ticket that day?

There is no photo id required so it makes me think that it is not an issue.

    Thanks

If there is no photo ID and the traveler matches the ticket profile ie Adult/Student/Child then I see no risk - obviously if asked, she purchased the ticket.

I used to do the same with my weekly Luas ticket, if not using it weekends or on day off allow Spouse to use it - never an issue, its a perfectly valid ticket used in the manner it was issued - travel on Luas/Train.

thanks, in the end she went on a private bus.

For her and her friend it was still cheaper in total to take it than pay for one rail ticket and it placed them in the city centre (instead of Heuston) and at about the same time.

Technically the ticket is not transferable but all that matters is that the holder has a valid ticket. No id required anymore for the monthly tickets so it would be like lending someone your leap card.

Unless the leap card has your picture on it.

No pictures on the normal leap cards.
