I am buying a new ( second hand) 3 wood
I have narrowed it down to cobra amp 3/4 adjustable or the Taylor made superfast burner 3 wood. Any info would be welcome.

I have hit numerous 3 woods in my own quest for a new one and have found that most 3 woods these days are all of similar quality, they all do the job.

I would say go to a place where they have a range and try and hit a few balls with them before you buy. Whatever feels good, do it :)
