Turbo Trainer Connected To Garmin

Am in the market for a turbo trainer that can connect back to either my Garmin 920xt or Strava.

Have looked at the JetBlack trainers but after reading into them they don't actually come with any meters but can be connected to them.

I also have the Garmin ant+ heart rate monitor and a giant sense speed and cadence ant+ sensor. So really any trainer could so what the jet black could do.

I assume there are videos available to download with gear and trainer settings guidelines for sessions.

Would like to be able to monitor my progress / condition over the winter, I find easier to motivate myself this way.

    Has anyone this set up?

IF you have a head unit and the sensors that should all you need (plus the trainer).

I used a basic trainer with a PM, HRM, speed and cadence sensor. Record the file either on trainer road or the garmin which uploads straight to garmin.

Same here, with hr, speed and cadence sensors attached just pedal away and it will upload as per any out door cycle. Gets me through the winter with some idea of my fitness levels.

Is there any way to measure power and still have some of the communion money left?

If you upload to strava it will give you an approximate power reading. Sadly if you plan on investing you're probably looking at €700 plus, and if you're going with Stages your cranks would need to be compatible.
I find that going by my heart rate gives me a fairly good indication of what level I am at.

Something like trainer road might be worth looking at.

Agree trainer road is a good starting point into power and won't break the bank

Zwift is free to use right now (it's still in beta). A basic supported trainer, speed sensor on the bike, ANT+ stick in the pc and away you go for around €250. It has a virtual power estimate similar to TrainerRoad.
