Yeah only thing i noticed different is 4 hour rewind on live streams.

    Will steam something later.....drunk.

No webcam so you wont see me naked.....sadly.

Better for smaller steamers, Google do take a larger cut off ad revenue but it's actually hard to be ineligible for the partner stuff.

Whereas twitch make it difficult and non partners have no video options and stream is at source quality so you either have to go hd at a decent bitrate and lose some views or take a hit on video quality for everyone.

One simple thing that bugs me from the off...

Say I want to check the listings for a simple game, Twitch lists them under:

    http://www.twitch.tv/directory/game/World%20of%20Warships

But Youtube has the same game under:

    https://gaming.youtube.com/game/UCQ3l1gaxj6xJQzkSxavLYfg#tab=1

Is the name "World of Warships" any less unique then UCQ3l1gaxj6xJQzkSxavLYfg? What possible advantage is there to that lump of junk in the URL?

It'll be baby steps for awhile. I'll stick to streaming on twitch for the moment until a lot of the alerts and all bots etc get adapted.

I was using youtube streaming when it first launched. Was pretty easily setup, quality wise was a touch better then twitch although that's to be expected with their superior infrastructure. But the chat integration was very poor, and the dashboard panel was a bit messy.

If it gets tidied up a bit would be probably very good.

Twitch is a great site I've followed since creation, and I normally operate on my PC with twitch open on a monitor watching my favourite streamers or games. But for people wanting to make a living out of it, Twitch is pretty closed of and ahs been for some time. That's what I've heard anyway. Like anything, if you got in early you were essentially o nthe gravy train.

This will be a good chance for new faces to get involved and get massive exposure. And from what I understand, youtube still pays more for popular channels than twitch does for the 2-5k viewer streams.

I only stream essentially to record VOD's to review gameplay back, and for like a handful of friends who want to watch me raid. youtube has much more powerful VOD functionality and inbuilt editing. And also doesn't auto mute your VOD's if you have music playing in the background. IF you don't monetise your streams, you can play any music and your VOds are fine. If you monetise, your VOD's get muted. Twitch just basically mute your VOD's the minute it recognises music, no ifs or buts.

Considering I raid while listening to music, YouTube was the better platform for me personally for what I wanted.

Just while the subject comes up - incase any boardsies are looking for a platform for their vids here on boards, check out The Video Dome - you can have your own thread to upload your vids/streams on to (in conjunction with wherever else on here you normally upload them). Just be sure to have a read of the rules first, it's a brand new forum so will hopefully grow in time and with enough users posting their content :)
