Seems Cecil the lion was the last straw for the animals and are fighting back.
A guide was killed by a lion in same park that Cecil was killed in.
Quinn Swales a native of the land was attacked and killed after he sacrificed himself to protect a group of six he led on a tour. He tracked a group of lions only to come on them to quick and was killed by a lion. The lion turned and charged the group and he stood in front of the group to protect them and it caused him his life. He was killed at the scene.

Elsewhere on a beach in Sydney several attacks by sharks on people has occurred in past few months most recently this week a man was attacked and managed to leave the attack with his life. Same area in past few months has seen several attacks

I think human / animal conflict is and has always been going on.
It's inevitable that more incidents are picked up on nowadays as human settlements take up more and more of the natural world and instant reporting is possible with phones and the internet.

Yes no animal attacks on humans happened prior to 2015 alright. The Dodder trout will be next. All hail king Snorky.

Are you seriously surprised by humans being attacked by Lions and Sharks?

    Seriously? Are you?

Is this worthy of it's own thread?

This stuff was laid out pretty clearly when you were in your youth by the likes of Warner Brothers and Hanna-Barbara

I am not seeing anything in your OP to suggest they are? Did I miss a link?

I'll start worrying when penguins start arming themselves with AK-47s.

Are they really though? Where's the evidence? Animals have been attacking humans since there were humans.

    Have you been watching Zoo?

Well, if people stayed out of waters where sharks are known to frequent there would be no shark attacks, likewise if people stopped wandering into lions territory they wouldn't get attacked either. If there are regular tours into a territory where lions live then it stands to reason that the lions will become less afraid of humans. Think of it this way, if someone random strangers broke into your house you'd have no hesitation in protecting your home.:D

If I get mauled by a polar bear in the Arctic it's my own tough luck, but if I wake up one morning and there's one of them sitting at my kitchen table eating toast, then the bastard is getting both barrels.

True. IMO humans have arms and legs not designed for the water. We've no gills or fins and the ocean isn't made for us to inhabit. If a shark attacks you it's your own fcukin fault and some idiots that have been attacked still return to the water?? One lad was attacked on 3 speedster occasions and once by two sharks at same time.

I also see repeated videos of bears using pools in the States, looks like those guys are domesticating.

I thought the people involved in this incident were there on a tour to see the animals? Do people know there's different types of tours other than the hunting types in those countries?

Very true, we evolved to get out of the sea, only fools want to go back in. :D

I would say you can safely drop the IMO part from that paragraph.

OP stop taking the tv show 'Zoo' so seriously.

The animals are not rising up. Our worldwide reporting of news events is at a scale even seen before, so naturally we hear more of the bizzare, than we did before.
