The middle one creates a better sense of depth. The shadows are sharper (probably not the best word to use but whatever). The shadows in the trees, under the bridge and in the metal work on the bridge hold more information, more detail. Because the shadows seem more defined (but not in a overly contrast way) it gives a sense that the image is sharper.

To me the first and last seem messy compared to the middle one.

The color tones in the middle one are more to my liking as well.

My only criticism would be to ease up on the vignetting

Of the three I prefer the second one, but also do not like the heavy handed vignette.

To my eye all the shots are a bit busy with too many distractions across the frame.

A less vignetted middle one for me too - the vignette is making it just a little too dull for my liking but I like the tones and the detail. As Whammy said, it appears less busy than the other two and for me, the eye is led around with less distraction.

I prefer the first one out of the three. But i think you can make this even better if you you refine it further - some good tips already posted. Somewhere in between 1 and 2 with less vignette and i think you have it.

Initially I thought #1 but #2 is a grower. Maybe less vignetting.

I like the processing on the 3rd. However, given the subject is the road, I think this stands out best in #2. I don't mind the vignette, it focuses the eye to the centre of the picture. If you wanted to, you process the trees and the background to be darker - to make the road pop out more.

That said, this one of my favourite pictures that I have seen from you.
