Tracking alcohol intake

In work there is often less busy times. These times some of us sit around a chat. We also have Excel. So, some of us had started tracking our booze intake everyday.
There are the obvious spikes on the weekends but it was a bit of a surprise to see the totals column after only about 10 days. That and the very few number of zero intake days.
Since reflecting on the last two weeks I'm making an effort to drastically cut back this week and week end. I haven't even tried to tally up how much was spent.

Anyone else ever tracked how much indulging in the sauce they've been doing?

Best not to quantify such things as reality spoils the illusion of normality.

Actually, we have daily totals, weekly totals, monthly and grand totals and individual bar charts for the 4 of us.
If it goes long enough we may add in weekly averages.

My total for last 10 days is 0.

    Not looking for a medal.

Heading over for World Cup rugby match next month. Better off not tracking those days.

Totally agree with you. Seriously tempted not to drink over there. But can't be dealing with third degree & hassle you get for not drinking by people.

Tallying booze intake is like tallying fappage. No good can come of it, only pain. :pac:

I don't tally up what I'm drinking, no. My total intake for the last ten days is 0. I'll generally have a bottle of wine once a week or once per fortnight.

I used to drink a lot on weekends when I was 19-22, probably about 30-40 units over two days. That was too much for me to be comfortable with, so I stopped. Never counted it up properly though, my body told me I was drinking too much (very sick stomach and heartburn the morning after).

When you have to create a chart to track your alcohol intake, that's when you should realize you're drinking too much.

    FYP ;)

I had half a pint in the last week or so - it would take some effort to make that show as a bar chart.

Men should drink no more than 21 units of alcohol per hour.

Delete that sheet, nothing good will come from people you work with seeing how much you booooze.

Its actually showing us all just how much we've been drinking unchecked and we're all now actively reducing our intake

We have it coded. Only us an 1 or two other people know about it.

I'm trying to imagine Keith Richards or Shane MacGowan using a spreadsheet to track their doings. Not working. All I'm hearing is demonic cackling.
