Water grant

    Hello,
    I am a mature student on BTEA, honestly I dont have tv neither radio, so I am not getting much updated with news.
    Unfortunately my last update about Irish water was in the end of May when my landlord was registering for Irish water and I thought I need to wait to get a letter from you to register . Just after I finished college in June I was unavailable for three weeks, then I received a bill from Irish Water with my name on it so I thought it's maybe because my landlord had registered my name that time.

    Then I went online and got confused even more, I am now confused if I'm registered or not as I have an account set up in my own name. I tried to call Irish Water several times- but the line is always busy and I don't have credit to make more calls.
    I also thought that as I'm a fuel allowance receiver I'll be automatically entitled for the water grant as well, I have even a Welfare budget plan for 2015 downloaded from their website stating that fuel allowance receiver will be provided with the water grant.
     But then apparently everyone ( including long-term welfare recipients) had to register with Irish water before 30 June 2015 to be able to receive the grant, but I guess I had been registered as I have my bills account set up already? If not does it mean I'm not entitled to any financial support?It is sad but I know that for now I can't afford paying my current bill..

    I receive barely 126.50 euros currently of my dole and after paying my esb, rent, gas, food, and student material I dont know how I will handle this bill without any support.  Does Irish Water consider such situations?
    Kind regards,
    Anna

    We can most certainly check if you are correctly registered with Irish Water and are eligible to apply for the Water Conservation Grant. To do this, we would ask that you send the following details via private message:

    - Name;
    - Address and
    - Contact Number.

    Once we have these details, we can investigate further for you.

    Yes, we are fully committed to working with customers who may experience difficulties when paying their Irish Water bill. We have a wide range of payment methods to suit all customers, which can be seen here. This includes a pay plan option which may be of interest to you. If you would like to discuss this further, please don't hesitate to let us know via private message and we can assist you.

    Kind regards,
    Amy.
