Couple accused of staging miscarriage video for youtube fame

One of the videos doing the rounds on social media last week was a husband 'surprising' his wife with a pregnancy result he took from secretly gathering her urine from the toilet (yes, I know.) The video currently stands at over 14 millions hits.

3 days later, the couple tearfully announced they had suffered a miscarriage. That video clocked in at 4.8 million views.

However, serious questions have been raised about the motives of the couple, and whether the wife was pregnant at all:
Sam and Nia Rader, from Wills Point, Texas, hit headlines earlier this month when they posted a video to YouTube in which the 29-year-old father-of-two 'surprised' his wife, 26, with the news that she was pregnant, after he used urine she had left in the toilet bowl to do a pregnancy test.

But just four days after the video went viral, the childhood sweethearts were back with another clip in which they tearfully revealed that Nia had suffered a miscarriage - and soon after came under fire from medical experts and internet critics who suggested that they had faked the entire incident in order to gain publicity for their YouTube channel.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-3203602/Couple-broadcast-details-miscarriage-YouTube-hit-critics-haters-claim-persecuted-Christian-faith.html

    http://gawker.com/vlogger-couple-grieves-miscarriage-three-days-after-ann-1723078900

The comments section on both sites seem to be pretty convinced the whole thing was a scam. The fact that the couple are notorious for pimping their family and friends to make a buck on youtube doesn't help their claims either.

They both appear to be acting in these videos, and acting badly at that. The man in particular (who was later revealed to have an Ashley Madison account) has an 'off' sense about him.

I would hope, for humanities sake, that this couple didn't stoop so low as to profit from the tragedy that is a miscarriage....but I wouldn't hold my breath.

    What do you think?

Not a fan of these people posting videos about pregnancy etc. That one where the mother gave birth in the car nearly made poke my eyes out. The father was more interested in filming it than anything else. Weird.

This karma-whoring/like-pimping is a scary side-effect of the Internet. Remember Balloon boy?

Why the fuck would they share such intimate details of their personal life with the world?

Sam and Nia Rader, from Wills Point, Texas, hit headlines earlier this month when they posted a video to YouTube in which the 29-year-old father-of-two 'surprised' his wife, 26, with the news that she was pregnant, after he used urine she had left in the toilet bowl to do a pregnancy test.

Ah, they are nuts. Say no more.

I am convinced a food blogger faked a recipe on YouTube.
Was livid last week with my laptop open on my kitchen counter.
I ain't joking either. Why would you fake a recipe?? Silly bint.
Maybe the food wraps from alternative ingredients community is viciously competitive or something.
    Strange folk in this world.

I agree that it looks a bit dodgy and badly acted...but I don't think I can believe that they would fake something so horrific. Even getting their children's hopes up.

    Surely not? :(

People have done far worse tbh..... I wouldn't put anything past people trying to make it "Famous" on Youtube for being a "normal" family.....

He was collecting her Pi$$ for fcuks sake :pac:

That would make me think they are more likely to deceive ... anyone who uses "God" or "Christ" as a guide is usually a dodgy ****er with something to hide.

they're no worse than people posting all day about themselves on facebook....if you're stupid enough to contribute to their channel then you are as bad as they are

I was suspicious that she had time in the morning to do her hair and make up, but not go to the toilet with her so called 'tiny bladder' and not flush it after.

On Friday, Sam and Nia’s YouTube channel, which is normally updated daily, went dark. The couple announced in a video on Saturday that they took a brief respite from sharing their most personal moments online because Nia miscarried the night before. They titled this video, “Our Baby Had a Heartbeat.”

They took mere 24 hours off..... seriously.... f**k these fame hungry people.
Nia then tells the world she is ready to be a voice for other women experiencing similar situations

I'm sure you are..... I'm sure you are....

I couldnt get over the fact that fundamentally pregnancy tests check for more than one persons piss and then pass or fail.

He's checking piss from a jacks ffs, how many people have pissed in it in the last day or 2

Its not worth anything unless they are in a partnership with youtube and gain from views on their videos through advertisements. My brother used to do this and got 5 million views on a video and got a few hundred dollars for it. Im guessing for theirs, if they are in a partnership with youtube, would have earned maybe 5 or 6,000 dollars

Pretty sure I heard somewhere that the guy is caught up in the Ashley Madison leak so I'm sure that is generating plenty of drama too.

How is this any different from the dramas/soaps people watch on TV, or the fake talent shows where people whore themselves in front of cameras for the amusement of the sheeple?

If their youtube channel made money, how is that any different from tv companies or production companies making money from the entertainment they produce?

No difference in my book. And not really shocking behavior anymore these days either!

It's almost a new type of addiction.

I'm guessing people who do that are hooked on seeing their notifications increase or their viewing figures increase.

Every little notification 'ding' releases more dopamine.

And with every addiciton, it's the first one that will do the damage.
They post something that goes viral and then want more and more, even to the point of faking miscarriages to get their hit of 'Likes' etc.

And it would want to be pretty potent piss at that. It was diluted by the water already in the loo, so hugely unlikely that he would have gotten a positive from it. I read that a few doctors /lab techs had their doubts about that one. So did I. When I heard he was supposedly an Ashley Madison victim and had been forgiven within minutes I was sure they are fakes.

Faking pregnancy and miscarriage is more common than people realise. I know a few loopers women who told their recent ex they were pregnant, I know one person who faked having endomitriosis to get paid sick leave. And I've encountered a few people online who were utter fantasists and they faked pregnancy tests and then 'miscarried'

Coronation Street doesn't present itself as reality, although it seems some people can't tell the difference.

Rubbish, it has nothing to do with it, bar giving the opportunity for a bit of jolly old religion-bashing as per usual on AH.

So, that aside, it sounds like attention-whoring. I mean, why would you put..any of that on Youtube? And why would you collect your wife's urine to "surprise" her with that she's pregnant and why..and..what...also, doesn't she flush?

He's handed in his resignation at a hospital where he worked as a regional nurse. He could have gotten a urine sample from any legitimately pregnant woman to get the positive result. He apparently wants to concentrate on vlogging and photography.

Kids gets two of the same gift for birthday, exchanges it and picks out Little Mermaid doll, parents make big fuss over it and how they'll support their kids no matter what choices they make.

Why can't they just support the kids without whoring them out on YouTube for cheap likes... this stuff makes me irrationally angry

So if I don't put something about my kids on YouTube did it really happen. Can't wait for these kids to grow up and tell their parents to get the camera away from them.

It's simply an extreme example of the attention-seeking / Likes-whoring desperation that now rules the internet, especially social media - Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Youtube, etc etc etc

The internet has become home to a cesspit of beyond-desperate attention seekers - and that includes some of the biggest celebrities out there, as well as some B/C/D/Z-list celebrities, who don't get labelled as desperate attention seekers, because they're "celebrities," but it's still the exact same thing.

And they are given attention freely and willingly by millions of us. So whose "fault" is it really?

I mean we all "hate" the Kardashians, but the Kardashians are only a thing because millions of us give them our attention all the time. WE create **** like that, it doesn't create itself. So lets remember to entirely blame ourselves for **** like that.

And now people are stooping to such lengths as faking miscarriages. If you are even mildly intelligent, you shouldn't be surprised by this story one bit.

Funnily enough there was some Irish family that are living in the UK who do videos of themselves on Youtube. They were featured on a programme on ITV on Monday. Never heard of them before but they seemed to be doing well enough out of it that it's more or less a full time thing.

Dont see the appeal of it at all though.

It's obviously faked, the urine in the toilet would have been diluted and probably wouldn't have worked.

Also, why wouldn't she have flushed??
