How's it going everybody just got a 2006 volkswagen jetta 1.9tdi and unfortunately I think the flywheel is not far off ****ed (first diesel so thought nothing of vibration on pedal) when taking off cold in first on the level or any incline there's a vibration felt through the pedal and car.

What I was hoping to find out is, any idea how much to get it done? Should I change for solid flywheel? Will I get away with not changing it for a month or so? (Hard to answer that I know but it's not a ridiculous vibration just noticeable, annoying in stop start traffic) any info appreciated

Diesels will vibrate more than a petrol. I would suggest rolling down the window with the car at idle and with the car in neutral and slowly lowering and raising the clutch pedal and listening for a whining noise. There will also be a rattle as you allow the pedal to come up if the flywheel is on the way out. Put the clutch pedal up and down with the car in neutral (slowly) and feel for any vibration.

But every car is different. I am used to a mondeo and can tell when its going after having three over ten years and when my father got a Tuscon a while back I couldn't believe the vibration but a year and a half on its still fine.

IF you are going to put a DMF back in then its about 800+ depending on who you go to.
